Auto Refresh Plus Complete Guide

Learn how to configure, control, and automate page refreshing with every feature available in Auto Refresh Plus.

Refresh Controls

Auto Refresh Plus includes all tools related to managing how and when a webpage refreshes, offering options such as predefined intervals, custom timing, random refresh patterns, countdown timers, and refresh limits. These controls allow you to fine-tune refresh behavior based on your needs, whether you want consistent updates, controlled timing, or more dynamic refresh patterns, giving you full flexibility and precise control over how the extension operates.

Features

8
01
Refresh ControlsPredefined Refresh Intervals

Predefined Refresh Intervals

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to automatically refresh webpages at specific time intervals so you always see the latest updates. You can quickly choose a predefined interval or use your own default interval based on your preference.

Predefined intervals are designed for speed and convenience. Instead of manually entering values, you can instantly start refreshing using commonly used timings.

Available predefined intervals:

  • 5 seconds
  • 10 seconds
  • 15 seconds
  • 5 minutes
  • 10 minutes
  • 15 minutes

If these options don’t match your needs, you can set a Default Time Interval in General Settings. This lets you define your preferred refresh time once and reuse it anytime, helping maintain consistency across different pages.

This feature is especially useful for monitoring frequently updated content such as job listings, live scores, ticket availability, and breaking news.

Configuration

3Default Time Interval

Open Extension Settings

Set your default refresh interval to use across all websites.

02
Refresh ControlsCustom Refresh Interval

Custom Refresh Interval

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to set a custom refresh interval for any webpage, giving you full control over how often the page reloads. Instead of using predefined options, you can manually enter the exact time using hours, minutes, and seconds.

This feature is ideal when you need precise timing that predefined intervals cannot provide. You can set refresh intervals such as 10 minutes, 2 minutes 30 seconds, or any custom combination based on your needs.

Custom intervals are especially useful for monitoring websites that update at irregular times, such as job listings, ticket availability, auctions, or live data pages. It ensures you refresh the page exactly when needed without unnecessary reloads.

Configuration

1Extension Icon
2Interval
3Enter Custom Time
03
Refresh ControlsRandom Refresh Interval

Random Refresh Interval

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to refresh webpages at random intervals within a defined range. Instead of using a fixed refresh time, the extension automatically selects a random interval between the minimum and maximum values you set.

For example, if you set the minimum interval to 5 seconds and the maximum interval to 30 seconds, the page will refresh at a different time within that range on each cycle.

This feature helps create a more natural refresh pattern and avoids predictable behavior. It is especially useful for monitoring dynamic content such as listings, availability pages, or frequently updated websites where fixed intervals may not be ideal.

04
Refresh ControlsCountdown Timer

Countdown Timer

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to control exactly when a page should start refreshing using the Countdown Timer feature. Instead of refreshing immediately, you can delay the start and run it at the right moment.

Countdown Timer offers two modes: Duration Mode and Date Time Mode. In Duration Mode, you set a countdown using hours, minutes, and seconds. The timer starts immediately, and once it reaches zero, auto refresh begins. In Date Time Mode, you select a specific date and time, and the extension waits until that exact moment to start refreshing.

You can also use Schedules to automate refresh behavior. This allows you to choose specific days and times when refreshing should start automatically. Additionally, you can define a time window to control when refreshing should stop, making it ideal for running refresh only during certain hours, such as business hours or specific monitoring periods.

This feature is useful when you need precise control over when refreshing starts and how long it should continue.

Configuration

05
Refresh ControlsVisual Timer

Visual Timer

Auto Refresh Plus displays a visual countdown timer directly on the webpage, showing exactly when the next refresh will occur. This makes it easy to track remaining time without needing to open the extension.

The visual timer can be enabled per website from the extension popup. Once enabled, it appears on the page and updates in real time, helping you monitor refresh activity while focusing on the content.

The timer also includes quick controls, allowing you to play, pause, reset, or stop the refresh directly from the page. This eliminates the need to reopen the popup and gives you faster control over refresh behavior.

You can also manage this feature from General Settings, where you can enable or disable the visual timer globally and choose its position on the screen for better visibility.

This feature is especially useful for tracking time-sensitive updates such as auctions, ticket releases, live data, or any content where timing matters.

06
Refresh ControlsHard Refresh

Hard Refresh

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to perform a hard refresh, ensuring that the webpage reloads with the latest content directly from the server. This bypasses the browser cache, which can sometimes display outdated information.

When Hard Refresh is enabled, the extension forces the browser to fetch fresh data on every refresh instead of using cached files. This ensures you always see the most up-to-date version of the page.

This feature is especially useful for websites that update frequently, such as news portals, stock tracking pages, dashboards, job listings, and live data platforms where accuracy matters.

You can enable Hard Refresh for individual websites from the extension popup. Once enabled, every automatic refresh will load fresh content directly from the source.

Configuration

07
Refresh ControlsRefresh Count Limit

Refresh Count Limit

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to control how many times a webpage refreshes automatically using the Refresh Count Limit feature. Instead of refreshing continuously, you can define a fixed number of refresh cycles after which the process will stop.

This feature is useful when you only need to monitor a page for a limited period. For example, you can set the page to refresh 10, 20, or 50 times while waiting for updates such as ticket availability, job listings, product restocks, or limited-time offers.

You can configure the refresh count directly from the extension popup by entering the number of refresh cycles you want. Once the defined limit is reached, the extension automatically stops refreshing the page.

This helps reduce unnecessary refresh activity while still allowing you to track important updates efficiently.

Configuration

08
Refresh ControlsStop on User Interaction

Stop on User Interaction

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to control how auto refresh behaves when you interact with a webpage. When actions such as clicking, scrolling, typing, or pressing a key are detected, the extension can adjust the refresh behavior to prevent interruptions.

You can choose from three actions when user interaction is detected. Stop will completely stop the refresh cycle. Pause will temporarily pause refreshing so you can continue using the page and resume it later. Restart from 0 will reset the timer and start a new countdown before the next refresh.

This feature is especially useful when filling forms, entering login details, reading content, or working inside dashboards where an unexpected refresh could disrupt your activity.

You can configure this setting per website from the extension popup or set a default behavior globally from General Settings.

URL & Tab Automation

URL & Tab Automation

Auto Refresh Plus extends refresh controls with advanced automation features that manage how specific URLs and browser tabs behave during refresh cycles. It allows you to automatically start refresh on selected URLs, manage active tabs, handle URL changes and redirections, and detect conditions such as captchas or error pages. These features are designed for more advanced use cases, giving you greater control and automation over multiple tabs and dynamic browsing scenarios beyond basic interval-based refreshing.

Features

7
01
URL & Tab AutomationAuto Start URLs

Auto Start URLs

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to automatically start refreshing specific webpages as soon as they are opened. This removes the need to manually start refresh each time and ensures your important pages are always up to date.

You can add single URLs or use wildcard patterns to apply refresh rules across multiple pages or entire websites. This gives you flexibility to target exactly what you want to monitor.

Wildcard URL examples:

  • example.com → Matches both HTTP and HTTPS versions
  • example.com/* → Matches all pages on that domain
  • .example.com/ → Matches all pages across subdomains

You can also enable additional automation options. On Browser Restart will resume refreshing when the browser is reopened. On URLs Open will automatically start refreshing whenever a matching URL is opened in a new tab.

This feature is ideal for automating refresh on frequently used pages such as dashboards, listings, ticket availability pages, or live data platforms.

Configuration

02
URL & Tab AutomationActive Tabs List

Active Tabs List

Auto Refresh Plus provides an Active Tabs List to help you manage and monitor all tabs where auto refresh is currently running. It gives you a clear overview of active refresh tasks, including the remaining time until the next refresh.

This feature is useful when working with multiple tabs, allowing you to quickly switch to any tab, check its refresh status, or stop the refresh without searching manually.

Tabs With Alerts shows tabs where the Page Monitor has detected changes or triggered alerts. You can open these tabs instantly to review updates or close them directly from the list.

Tabs with Active Refresh displays all tabs that currently have auto refresh enabled. It also shows their refresh status, making it easy to manage or stop any active session.

You can also configure additional options from General Settings. Tabs With Alerts can be enabled or disabled, and Retain Alerted Tabs allows you to keep a record of alerted tabs for a set period, ensuring important updates are not missed.

03
URL & Tab AutomationRefresh Predefined URL

Refresh Predefined URL

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to refresh a specific predefined URL without needing to open that page manually. Once configured, the extension will always refresh the selected page when you click Start, regardless of which website you are currently viewing.

For example, if google.com is set as the predefined URL and you are browsing another website, starting auto refresh will refresh google.com instead of the current page. This works as a quick shortcut for monitoring an important page you check frequently.

This feature is configured from General Settings and is not available in the extension popup.

Important: When enabled, only the predefined URL will be refreshed. Other webpages will not be affected while this setting is active. This option is recommended when you want to focus on monitoring a single specific page.

3Predefined URL

👉 Important: Auto Refresh Limited to Selected URL

Enabling the "Refresh Predefined URL" feature will limit all auto-refresh functions to the specified URL only that you write in this input. You will not be able to refresh any other URLs when this feature is active.

Open Extension Settings

Set a predefined URL to refresh instead of the current active page.

04
URL & Tab AutomationURL Changes & Redirection Handling

URL Changes & Redirection Handling

Auto Refresh Plus ensures that auto refresh continues to work correctly on websites that change URLs or use redirects. Many modern websites automatically redirect users, update URLs after login, or use tracking links. This feature allows the extension to handle these changes without interrupting the refresh cycle.

You can choose how redirects should be handled.

Follow All Redirects allows the extension to follow any redirect and continue refreshing the final destination page. This is useful for login redirects, tracking links, or websites with dynamic URLs.

Follow Canonical URL keeps the refresh limited to the original URL you started with. Even if the page redirects, the extension continues refreshing the base URL. This is useful when you want strict control over a specific page.

You can also configure redirect behavior per page directly from the extension popup, allowing each URL to have its own rule.

For example:

  • example.com/product-1 → Follow redirects
  • example.com/product-2 → Refresh canonical URL only

This feature provides flexible and reliable control over refresh behavior on websites that frequently change URLs.

05
URL & Tab AutomationCaptcha Detection

Captcha Detection

Auto Refresh Plus automatically detects captcha challenges that appear during the refresh process. Some websites display captchas when they detect repeated requests or automated activity. This feature helps prevent unnecessary refresh loops and gives you time to respond.

When a captcha is detected, you can choose how the extension should behave.

Stop will immediately stop the refresh cycle, allowing you to solve the captcha without interruption.

Continue will keep the refresh running even if a captcha is detected. This is useful if you only want to be notified while maintaining the refresh process.

You can also enable an alarm notification that plays a sound when a captcha is detected. This ensures you are alerted even if you are not actively watching the tab.

This feature can be configured per website from the extension popup, giving you control over how each page handles captcha detection.

URL & Tab AutomationError Page Detection

Error Page Detection

Auto Refresh Plus automatically detects when a webpage returns an error response such as 404, 500, or other failed page states. This helps prevent unnecessary refresh cycles on pages that are temporarily or permanently unavailable.

When an error page is detected, you can choose how the extension should respond.

Stop will immediately stop the refresh cycle to avoid repeated requests on a broken page.

Continue will allow the refresh process to keep running even if an error is detected. This is useful when a page may temporarily fail but is expected to recover.

You can also enable an alarm notification that plays a sound when an error page is detected. This helps you quickly notice when a monitored page becomes unavailable.

This feature can be configured per website from the extension popup, giving you full control over how each page handles error detection.

Prevent System Sleep While Refreshing

The Prevent System Sleep feature in Auto Refresh Plus ensures that your system stays awake while at least one tab is actively refreshing. This prevents interruptions caused by system sleep or standby mode, allowing your pages to continue updating without disruption.

When enabled, the system will remain active even if the screen turns off or remains idle, ensuring continuous refresh operations in the background. This is especially useful for long monitoring sessions, data tracking, or situations where you need updates to run unattended for extended periods.

This feature helps maintain reliability and consistency by ensuring that refresh tasks are not paused due to system inactivity.

Page Monitor

Page Monitor

Auto Refresh Plus adds intelligent monitoring on top of refresh controls, allowing you to detect changes on a webpage based on keywords, expressions, or content updates. Instead of simply refreshing at intervals, it enables the extension to react to specific conditions such as text appearing, disappearing, or changing, making it ideal for tracking availability, price updates, notifications, or dynamic content. With multiple monitoring modes, detection methods, and advanced options, it provides precise control over when and how actions should be triggered during the refresh process.

Features

01
Page MonitorRefresh Types

Refresh Types

Auto Refresh Plus provides multiple refresh methods to match how different websites load and update content. Choosing the right refresh type ensures accurate and efficient monitoring.

Full Page Refresh reloads the entire webpage, similar to pressing the browser refresh button. All content, scripts, and layout elements reload from scratch. This method is best for traditional websites where updates require a full reload. It provides reliable results but may reset unsaved inputs or temporary data.

XHR Refresh updates only specific parts of the page without reloading everything. It uses background requests to fetch updated content while keeping the page stable. Scroll position remains unchanged and form inputs are preserved. This is ideal for modern websites such as dashboards, live feeds, and AJAX-based platforms.

Configuration

1Extension Icon
2Monitor
3Select Refresh Type
02
Page MonitorMonitoring Modes

Monitoring Modes

Auto Refresh Plus provides different monitoring modes to detect changes on a webpage based on your needs. You can track specific text or detect any change in page content.

Alert on Keyword Found sends a notification when specific text appears on the page after refresh. This is commonly used for tracking product availability, ticket releases, or special offers.

Alert on Keyword Lost sends a notification when specific text disappears from the page. This helps monitor when items go out of stock, notices are removed, or offers expire.

Custom Monitor (Track Any Change) detects any change in the page without requiring keywords. The extension compares content between refresh cycles and triggers an alert when a difference is found. This is useful when updates are unpredictable.

Keyword Detection

When using keyword-based monitoring, you can define text or patterns that trigger alerts. Keywords can be simple text like "In Stock" or "Add to Cart", or advanced formats such as Regular Expressions (Regex), XPath, or CSS selectors.

Multiple keywords can be added to monitor different conditions at the same time. Each keyword acts as a trigger condition.

For Custom Monitor, keyword configuration is not required since detection is based on overall page changes.

03
Page MonitorChange Detection Method

Change Detection Method

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to choose how changes are detected on a webpage using the Change Detection Method feature. This defines whether the extension monitors visible page content or the underlying source code.

This option helps you select the most accurate detection method based on how a website updates its content. It can be configured per URL from the extension popup, allowing different pages to use different methods.

Visual Detection monitors changes in what is visible on the page, including text, layout, images, buttons, and other on-screen elements. This is ideal for tracking updates exactly as a user would see them, such as product availability, price changes, or content updates.

Source Code Detection monitors changes in the page’s underlying HTML, scripts, or styles. Instead of focusing on visible content, it analyzes the structure of the page to identify modifications. This is useful for advanced monitoring where updates occur in the background or at the code level.

Source Code Detection is Advanced Use Only

Source Code Detection is intended for advanced users and developers. For most use cases, Visual Detection is recommended.
04
Page MonitorPredefined Target Text / Keyword

Predefined Target Text / Keyword

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to define default target keywords that automatically trigger refresh behavior when detected on a webpage. You can set one or multiple keywords in General Settings underPredefined. Once configured, the extension continuously checks for these keywords on supported pages.

When any of the defined keywords appear on a webpage, Auto Refresh Plus will automatically start refreshing the page based on your default time interval. This removes the need to manually start monitoring and ensures instant response when important content becomes available.

This feature is especially useful for tracking events such as product availability, ticket releases, or status changes where specific text indicates an update.

05
Page MonitorDefine Keyword Template

Define Keyword Template

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to create a keyword template to quickly fill monitoring inputs when setting up Page Monitor. You can define your most commonly used keywords in General Settings under Page Monitor. These keywords act as a reusable template, saving you from entering the same values repeatedly.

When configuring Page Monitor from the extension popup, you can click "Use Default Keywords" to instantly populate the monitoring input with your saved template. This makes setup faster and ensures consistency across different pages. You can still edit, add, or remove keywords after applying the template, giving you full flexibility for page-specific monitoring.

This feature is especially useful when you frequently monitor similar conditions such as product availability, hiring updates, or status changes across multiple websites.

06
Page MonitorSupported Expressions

Supported Expressions

Auto Refresh Plus supports multiple expression types to help you define precise monitoring conditions when using Page Monitor. You can start with simple keywords or use advanced expressions depending on your needs.

For most users, Plain Text is the easiest and most commonly used option. You can simply enter keywords such as:

  • "In Stock"
  • "Add to Cart"
  • "Available"
  • "Buy Now"

This works well for general monitoring and does not require any technical knowledge.

For advanced users, Auto Refresh Plus supports more powerful expression types:

  • Regular Expressions (Regex) – Match dynamic or pattern-based text
  • CSS Selectors – Target specific HTML elements on a page
  • XPath Expressions – Precisely locate elements within the page structure

These advanced methods allow you to monitor complex websites, track structured content, and detect changes that may not be visible through simple keyword matching.

Example advanced use cases:

  • Detect price changes within a specific HTML element
  • Monitor dynamic content inside a table or list
  • Track changing numbers such as stock count or live data
  • Detect partial text patterns (e.g. any price below a certain value)

To make advanced monitoring easier, you can use ready-made expressions from the Ready Expressions library: Ready Made Expressions

You can also generate custom expressions using the AI Expression Generator: AI Expression Generator

This allows both normal and advanced users to create powerful monitoring rules without needing deep technical knowledge.

07
Page MonitorContinue Refreshing on Keyword Detection

Continue Refreshing on Keyword Detection

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to continue refreshing a page even after a monitored keyword is detected. By default, some monitoring setups stop once the trigger condition is met. When this option is enabled, the refresh cycle continues so you can keep tracking further changes.

This is useful when updates can occur multiple times and you do not want monitoring to stop after the first detection. For example, if a product goes in and out of stock, the extension can continue refreshing and trigger alerts each time the keyword appears instead of stopping after the first match.

You can also control repeated keyword detection using the Skip Repeated Keyword option. When enabled, the extension ignores keywords that were already detected in the previous refresh cycle, preventing duplicate alerts for the same unchanged content. When disabled, alerts may trigger again if the same keyword is detected repeatedly.

This setting can be configured per page from the extension popup or set globally from General Settings for all monitored websites.

08
Page MonitorReal-Time Detection During Refresh

Real-Time Detection During Refresh

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to detect keyword matches in real time while the page is refreshing. Instead of waiting for the refresh cycle to complete, the extension continuously checks for changes and triggers alerts the moment a match is found. This significantly reduces response time when monitoring fast-changing pages.

For example, during a flash sale or ticket release, availability may appear and disappear within seconds. With real-time detection enabled, the extension can instantly detect the keyword and trigger an alert without waiting for the refresh cycle to finish.

This option can be enabled per page from the extension popup, allowing you to use real-time monitoring only where faster detection is required.

Configuration

1Extension Icon
2Monitor → Scroll down
3Real-Time Detection
09
Page MonitorRun Detection After Load

Run Detection After Load

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to run keyword detection only after the webpage has fully loaded. Some websites load important content with a delay or through dynamic scripts, which means keywords may not be available immediately when the refresh starts.

If detection runs too early, the extension may miss the keyword because the content has not yet appeared on the page. When this option is enabled, the extension waits for the page content to load before running detection. You can define the wait time in seconds based on how long the page takes to load its content.

For example, on an eCommerce page where product availability appears a few seconds after load, setting a delay ensures the keyword is detected correctly.

This setting can be enabled per page from the extension popup, allowing you to apply it only where delayed content loading is expected.

Configuration

1Extension Icon
2Monitor → Scroll down
3Wait for Content to Load
Advanced Monitoring

Advanced Monitoring

Auto Refresh Plus enhances Page Monitor by adding more precise control and automated actions when changes are detected. It allows you to focus on specific areas of a webpage, highlight detected keywords, automatically scroll to matched content, and even trigger actions like auto-clicking. These features are designed for users who need faster response, better visibility, and deeper control over how monitoring behaves on dynamic or complex pages.

Features

4
01
Advanced Monitoring Monitor Custom Page Area

Monitor Custom Page Area

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to monitor changes within a specific section of a webpage instead of scanning the entire page. This improves accuracy and helps avoid false alerts caused by unrelated content updates.

You can define a custom monitoring area using a CSS selector or by selecting the exact element directly from the page. Once configured, the extension will only analyze that selected section during each refresh cycle. This is useful when a webpage contains multiple dynamic sections but you only want to track a specific part, such as a product container, stock status, price section, or notification area.

For example, on a product listing page, you can limit monitoring to the availability section instead of scanning the entire page. This ensures alerts are triggered only when relevant content changes.

This setting can be configured per page from the extension popup, allowing each URL to have its own targeted monitoring area.

Configuration

02
Advanced Monitoring Highlight Detected Keyword

Highlight Detected Keyword

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to visually highlight detected keywords directly on the webpage. When a monitored keyword is found or lost based on the selected monitoring mode, the extension marks the matched text so you can instantly locate it.

This makes it easier to confirm detections without manually searching through the page, especially on large or complex pages. The feature is particularly useful for pages with multiple listings, long content sections, or dense layouts where finding the keyword manually would take time.

This option can be enabled per page from the extension popup, allowing you to use highlighting only where visual confirmation is needed.

Configuration

03
Advanced Monitoring Scroll to Keyword

Scroll to Keyword

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to automatically scroll to the location where a monitored keyword is detected. When the keyword appears, the page instantly moves to that position so you can view the matched content without searching manually.

This is especially useful on long pages with multiple listings, products, or large content sections where locating the keyword would otherwise take time. For example, if a product becomes available and the keyword "In Stock" appears within a large grid, the page will automatically scroll to that exact location.

This option can be enabled per page from the extension popup or set globally from General Settings for all monitored pages.

Configuration

04
Advanced Monitoring Auto Click Detected Keyword

Auto Click Detected Keyword

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to automatically click a detected keyword when it appears on the page, if it is part of a clickable element such as a button or link.

When enabled, the extension instantly performs the click action as soon as the keyword is detected, removing the need for manual interaction. This feature is useful when you need to react immediately to events. For example, if a “Buy Now” or “Add to Cart” button appears on a product page, the extension can automatically click it the moment it becomes available.

This adds automation to Page Monitor and helps you respond faster to events such as product restocks, ticket releases, or limited-time offers.

Alerts & Notifications

Auto Refresh Plus keep you informed when a monitored event occurs by delivering instant updates through multiple channels. Whether it’s a keyword detection, page change, captcha, or error condition, you can receive alerts via browser notifications, email, webhook integrations, or automatic window focus. These features ensure you never miss important updates and can respond quickly, even when the tab is inactive or running in the background.

Features

Alerts & NotificationsPush Notifications

Push Notifications

Auto Refresh Plus sends instant browser notifications when a monitored event is detected. When a keyword appears, disappears, or a page change occurs, the extension displays a notification directly on your device.

Notifications are also triggered when important events occur, such as captcha detection or error page detection. This ensures you are immediately informed when something requires your attention. This allows you to stay updated even if the monitored tab is in the background, minimized, or not currently active.

Push notifications are useful for tracking events such as product availability, ticket releases, price changes, captcha challenges, or page errors without continuously watching the page.

Notifications appear as standard browser alerts, allowing you to quickly view the update and open the related tab if needed. You can also configure notification behavior from General Settings, including sound playback, volume level, and how long the notification sound should play.

Configuration

1General Settings:

02
Alerts & NotificationsEmail Alerts

Email Alerts

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to receive email notifications when a monitored event is detected. This ensures you stay informed even if the browser is minimized, running in the background, or if you are away from your computer.

To use email alerts, you must first define your email address in General Settings under the Page Monitor section. This sets the default recipient for all notifications.

After configuring your email, **you also need to enable email alerts from the extension popup for each page you want to monitor. ** This ensures notifications are sent only for selected URLs and helps avoid unnecessary emails.

Email alerts are triggered only when all of the following conditions are met:

  • An email address is set in General Settings
  • Email alerts are enabled for the specific page from the popup
  • A monitoring event occurs, such as keyword detection or status change

This two-level setup provides better control and prevents unwanted notifications while ensuring important updates are delivered directly to your inbox.

03
Alerts & NotificationsWebhook Integration

Webhook Integration

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to send automated HTTP POST requests to external services when a monitoring event occurs. This enables Page Monitor to integrate with automation tools, messaging platforms, or your own backend systems. When a keyword is found, lost, or a change is detected, the extension sends structured event data to the configured webhook endpoint.

Webhook setup is done in two steps.

First, configure the webhook in General Settings by defining a name, selecting the service type, and entering the webhook URL. Supported services include Custom URL, Discord, Slack, Telegram, and Ntfy.

Second, enable webhook notifications from the extension popup for each page you want to monitor. This ensures webhook events are triggered only for selected URLs.

When an event occurs, the extension sends a JSON payload that may include:

  • content – the keyword or detected value
  • type – event type such as found, lost, or change
  • url – the monitored page URL

This allows external systems to process the data and trigger further actions such as sending alerts, updating dashboards, or running custom workflows.

Webhook integration turns Page Monitor into a real-time automation system, allowing it to interact with external services automatically.

Window Focus on Detection

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to automatically bring the browser window to the foreground when a monitored event is detected. This ensures you immediately see the update without manually checking the tab.

This feature is useful when monitoring runs in background tabs or while you are working in another application. As soon as the defined condition is triggered, the browser window gains focus so you can quickly view the detected change.

For example, if you are monitoring a product page for “In Stock”, the browser window will automatically come to the front when the keyword appears.

This option can be enabled per page from the extension popup or set globally from General Settings for all monitored pages.

Automation Tools

Automation Tools

Auto Refresh Plus provide additional controls to enhance productivity and automate interactions beyond standard refresh and monitoring. These tools allow you to execute custom scripts, generate automation using AI, and control key actions using keyboard shortcuts. Together, they help streamline repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and give you faster, more flexible control over how the extension operates.

Execute Custom Scripts & AI Automation

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to automate actions on webpages using Custom Scripts and the built-in AI Script Generator.

Custom Scripts enable you to run JavaScript during different stages of the refresh and monitoring process. You can trigger scripts when a refresh starts, after the page loads, or when a monitored keyword is found or lost. This gives advanced users full control to automate workflows, modify page behavior, or perform complex actions.

Common use cases include:

  • Running scripts when a refresh begins
  • Executing actions after the page fully loads
  • Triggering automation when a keyword is detected or removed
  • Automatically clicking elements or performing multi-step actions

Custom scripts are configured from General Settings, where you can define your JavaScript code and specify URL patterns to control where the script runs.

Common URL pattern examples:

  • example.com → Matches both HTTP and HTTPS
  • example.com/* → Matches all pages on that domain
  • .example.com/ → Matches all subdomains

For users who do not want to write code, the AI Script Generator provides an easier way to create scripts. You can describe what you want in simple language, and the AI will generate a working script for you. This is ideal for basic to medium-level automation such as auto-clicking, scrolling, or simple conditional actions.

AI Script Generator

In addition to AI generation, you can also explore ready-made scripts from the Script Marketplace. This includes commonly used automation scripts shared by the community, which can be used instantly without creating your own.

Script Marketplace

This combination of manual scripting, AI-generated scripts, and marketplace templates provides a complete automation system suitable for both beginners and advanced users.

Automation ToolsHotkeys (Keyboard Shortcuts)

Hotkeys (Keyboard Shortcuts)

The Hotkeys feature in Auto Refresh Plus allows you to control key functions of the extension using keyboard shortcuts. Instead of opening the extension popup each time, you can quickly trigger actions directly from your keyboard.

Hotkeys help speed up common tasks and make it easier to manage refresh actions while working or browsing.

Using hotkeys, you can perform actions such as:

  • Start a time interval refresh
  • Start a random interval refresh
  • Activate countdown timer mode
  • Stop the current refresh cycle
  • Mute notification sounds

Hotkeys can be configured from Extension General Settings, where you can assign custom keyboard shortcuts based on your preferences. This allows you to create a setup that fits your workflow and makes controlling Auto Refresh Plus faster and more efficient.

Each shortcut must include at least one modifier key such as Ctrl, Alt, Shift, or Command to ensure compatibility and avoid conflicts with system shortcuts.

Account & Sync

Account & Sync

Auto Refresh Plus allows you to manage your account and keep your settings synchronized across multiple devices. It enables you to create a primary control device, connect secondary devices using sync keys, and organize configurations using settings profiles. This system ensures your setup stays consistent, centralized, and easy to manage, while giving you flexibility to run different configurations across different devices.

Account & SyncSync Settings

Sync Settings

Sync Settings allows you to synchronize Auto Refresh Plus settings across multiple devices using your Auto Refresh Plus account.

What Gets Synchronized?

Sync Settings synchronizes both:

  • Settings page options
  • Extension popup settings

This includes refresh intervals, Hard Refresh, monitor settings, keywords, notifications, auto-start options, and most website-specific configurations.

How It Works

Auto Refresh Plus uses a profile-based system.

  1. Create a profile on your Master Device.
  2. Assign the profile to one or more Slave Devices.
  3. Configure your settings on the Master Device.

Any changes made to the profile are automatically synchronized to all devices using that profile.

The Main Benefit

The biggest advantage of Sync Settings is centralized control.

Instead of managing every computer individually, you manage profiles from a single Master Device.

For example:

  • 1 Master Device
  • 20 Slave Devices
  • 4 Different Profiles

You can assign 5 devices to each profile and run 4 completely different operations at the same time.

Need to change keywords, monitor settings, refresh intervals, or Hard Refresh?

Simply select the profile on your Master Device, make the changes, and all assigned Slave Devices will automatically receive the updated settings in real time.

In most cases, Slave Devices only need to press Start and will continue following the profile configuration automatically.

Why Can't I Edit Some Settings?

If you see a message such as:

"You cannot modify this option because you are a slave user."

This is expected behavior.

Slave Devices follow the profile configuration from the Master Device. To make changes, edit the profile on the Master Device and the updates will automatically synchronize to all assigned devices.

Account & SyncDevices Management

Devices Management

The Devices section in Auto Refresh Plus allows you to manage all devices connected to your setup when Sync Settings is enabled.

There are two types of devices:

Primary Device (Master) The Primary Device is the main control device. This is the only device that requires login using your Auto Refresh Plus account (email and password).

From the Primary Device, you can:

  • Create and manage settings profiles
  • Control how configurations are applied
  • Generate Sync Keys to connect other devices

Only one Primary Device can exist per setup, and it acts as the central controller.

Secondary Devices (Slave) Secondary Devices do not require login. Instead, they connect using a Sync Key generated from the Primary Device.

To connect a Secondary Device:

  • Open the extension on the secondary device
  • Enter the Sync Key provided by the Primary Device (from Add Device section)

Once connected, Secondary Devices automatically receive and follow the configurations assigned by the Primary Device.

Devices can be grouped under different Settings Profiles. This allows you to run different configurations across devices. For example, one group can run a monitoring setup while another group runs a different refresh configuration.

From the Devices section, you can:

  • View all connected devices
  • Assign devices to different settings profiles
  • Control which devices follow specific configurations
  • Remove devices when needed

This setup allows you to control multiple devices from one central Primary Device while keeping everything organized and synchronized.

Account & SyncSettings Profiles

Settings Profiles

Settings Profiles in Auto Refresh Plus allow you to create and manage different groups of configurations. Each profile can have its own refresh settings, monitoring rules, and automation preferences.

This feature is especially useful when you use Auto Refresh Plus for different tasks or across multiple devices, where each setup requires a different configuration.

For example, you can create:

  • Work Monitoring Profile for dashboards or job tracking
  • Stock Tracking Profile for product availability
  • Testing Profile for development or automation tasks

Settings Profiles are managed from the Primary Device (master). The Primary Device creates and controls all profiles, while Secondary Devices (slave devices) are assigned to specific profiles.

Each Secondary Device automatically follows the configuration of the profile it is assigned to. This allows different devices to run completely different setups at the same time.

Using Settings Profiles helps keep your monitoring organized, flexible, and easy to manage, especially when working with multiple devices under one system.
