How Can I Setup Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

You can add an extra layer of security to your Auto Refresh Plus account by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Once enabled, you'll be asked to enter a verification code from your authenticator app whenever you sign in.

How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Follow these steps:

  • Open the Auto Refresh Plus extension
  • Click the Settings icon in the extension popup
  • Or visit https://account.autorefresh.io/settings?tab=security
  • Open the Security tab
  • Scroll to the Two-Factor Authentication section
  • Click Enable 2FA
  • Enter your account password and click Confirm
  • Scan the QR code using a supported authenticator app, such as:
    • Google Authenticator
    • Authy
  • Click Next
  • Enter the verification code generated by your authenticator app
  • Click Verify & Enable
  • Download your Backup Codes and save them in a secure location

Once setup is complete, Two-Factor Authentication will be enabled for your account.

Why Enable Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of protection to your account by requiring a verification code in addition to your password.

This helps prevent unauthorized access, even if someone knows your password.

Important Notes

  • Two-Factor Authentication is managed from the Security tab in Account Settings
  • A supported authenticator app is required to generate verification codes
  • Backup codes can be used to access your account if you lose access to your authenticator app
  • Store your backup codes in a safe place and do not share them with anyone
  • You can access Account Settings from the extension Settings icon or directly by visiting https://account.autorefresh.io/settings

Summary

To enable Two-Factor Authentication, open Account Settings, go to the Security tab, and complete the verification process using an authenticator app. After enabling 2FA, download and securely store your backup codes so you can recover access to your account if needed.
