You can add an extra layer of security to your Auto Refresh Plus account by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Once enabled, you'll be asked to enter a verification code from your authenticator app whenever you sign in.
How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Follow these steps:
- Open the Auto Refresh Plus extension
- Click the Settings icon in the extension popup
- Or visit https://account.autorefresh.io/settings?tab=security
- Open the Security tab
- Scroll to the Two-Factor Authentication section
- Click Enable 2FA
- Enter your account password and click Confirm
- Scan the QR code using a supported authenticator app, such as:
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- Click Next
- Enter the verification code generated by your authenticator app
- Click Verify & Enable
- Download your Backup Codes and save them in a secure location
Once setup is complete, Two-Factor Authentication will be enabled for your account.
Why Enable Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of protection to your account by requiring a verification code in addition to your password.
This helps prevent unauthorized access, even if someone knows your password.
Important Notes
- Two-Factor Authentication is managed from the Security tab in Account Settings
- A supported authenticator app is required to generate verification codes
- Backup codes can be used to access your account if you lose access to your authenticator app
- Store your backup codes in a safe place and do not share them with anyone
