Stay updated on monitored keywords even when you're away from your browser by receiving alerts through Telegram. When Auto Refresh Plus (ARP) detects a configured trigger, a notification can be sent directly to your Telegram account using the Webhook Notifications feature.
How to Receive Alerts in Telegram
Setting up Telegram alerts requires two steps.
1. Create a Telegram Bot
Before configuring Telegram alerts, you must create a Telegram bot.
- Open Telegram and search for @BotFather
- Start a chat with @BotFather
- Type
/newbot - Follow the instructions provided by BotFather
- Create your bot
- Copy the Bot Token
- Open a chat with your newly created bot
- Send at least one message to the bot
Important: You must send a message to your bot before Telegram can deliver notifications to your account.
2. Configure Telegram Webhook in Settings
After creating your bot, configure Telegram in Auto Refresh Plus.
- Open General Settings
- Go to Notifications
- Open Webhooks
- Click Add Webhook
- Select Telegram
- Enter your Telegram Bot Token and other required details
- Save the configuration
This creates a Telegram notification channel that Auto Refresh Plus can use when monitoring keyword gets detected.
3. Enable Telegram Alerts for a Website
Once the Telegram webhook is configured, enable it for the page you want to monitor.
- Open the Auto Refresh Plus extension
- Go to the Monitor tab
- Enable Receive Webhook Alerts
- Select your Telegram webhook configuration
- Start monitoring the page
Telegram notifications will only be sent for pages where webhook alerts are enabled.
When Are Telegram Alerts Sent?
Telegram alerts are triggered when a monitoring keyword is deleted or detected.
Examples include:
- A keyword is found
- A keyword is lost
- A page change is detected
When an event occurs, Auto Refresh Plus sends the information through the configured Telegram webhook.
Important Notes
- Telegram alerts use the Webhook Notifications feature
- A Telegram bot must be created before alerts can be sent
- You must send at least one message to the bot before receiving notifications
- Webhook alerts must be enabled for each monitored page
- Notifications are only sent when a monitoring keyword is detected
Summary
Telegram can be used as a notification channel for monitoring keywords detected by Auto Refresh Plus. After creating a Telegram bot, configuring the webhook settings, and enabling alerts for a page, messages will be sent automatically whenever the specified conditions are met.
