To randomize page refresh timing in Auto Refresh Plus (ARP), use the Random Interval feature. Instead of refreshing at a fixed interval, the extension automatically selects a refresh time within a range that you define.
How to Enable Random Refresh Timing
Follow these steps:
- Open the Auto Refresh Plus extension
- Go to the Interval tab
- Under Refresh Interval Mode, select Random Interval
- Enter a Minimum and Maximum refresh value
- Click Start
Example:
- Minimum: 5 seconds
- Maximum: 30 seconds
Auto Refresh Plus will choose a different refresh interval between 5 and 30 seconds for each refresh cycle.
Why Use Random Refresh Timing?
Random intervals vary the time between refreshes instead of using the same interval every time.
This can be useful when:
- Monitoring frequently updated websites
- Tracking product availability
- Watching ticket releases
- Following live updates or listings
The extension automatically selects a refresh time within your chosen range for each refresh cycle.
Important Notes
- The minimum value must be lower than the maximum value
- A new random interval is selected after every refresh cycle
- Random Interval is configured from the extension popup under the Interval tab
Summary
Instead of refreshing a page at fixed intervals, Auto Refresh Plus can vary the timing between refreshes. By enabling Random Interval and specifying a minimum and maximum value, each refresh will occur at a randomly selected time within your chosen range.
