Auto Refresh Plus (ARP) supports Ntfy notifications, allowing you to receive instant monitoring alerts on your phone, desktop, or any device subscribed to your Ntfy topic. Once configured, the extension sends webhook notifications whenever a monitored event occurs.
How to Set Up Ntfy
Before configuring Auto Refresh Plus, create a topic in Ntfy.
- Open the Ntfy app or website
- Click Subscribe to a Topic
- Enter a unique Topic Name
- Click Subscribe
- Open the subscribed topic and copy the Topic URL
- Go to the Account section
- Copy your Access Token
Keep the Topic URL, Topic Name, and Access Token ready for the next step.
Configure Ntfy in Auto Refresh Plus
- Open General Settings
- Go to Notifications
- Select Webhooks
- Click Add Webhook
- Enter a Webhook Name
- Select Ntfy as the service
- Paste the Access Token
- Paste the Topic URL
- Enter the exact Topic Name
- Click Save
- Click Test to verify that notifications are working correctly
If the test is successful, your Ntfy webhook is ready to use.
Enable Ntfy Alerts for a Page
After configuring the webhook:
- Open the Auto Refresh Plus extension
- Go to the Monitor tab
- Enable Receive Webhook Alerts
- Start monitoring the page
Webhook notifications are only sent for pages where webhook alerts are enabled.
When Are Ntfy Alerts Sent?
A notification is sent whenever a monitoring event occurs, such as:
- Keyword found
- Keyword lost
- Page change detected
Each notification contains event details and is delivered instantly to all devices subscribed to your Ntfy topic.
Important Notes
- Ntfy notifications use the Webhook feature
- The Topic URL, Topic Name, and Access Token must all be configured correctly
- Always use the Test button to confirm your webhook is working
- Webhook alerts must be enabled separately for each monitored page
- Monitoring must be running before notifications can be sent
