Website behavior can sometimes depend on specific cookie values. With Cookie Automation in Auto Refresh Plus (ARP), you can automatically add or edit cookies during a refresh workflow to change how the website behaves or what content it displays.
How to Change Website Behavior Using Cookies
Follow these steps:
- Open the website where you want to change its behavior
- Open the Auto Refresh Plus extension
- Go to Monitor → Cookie Automation
- Add a cookie rule
- Enter the Cookie Name and Cookie Value, or use the Cookie Picker to select a cookie from the current website
- Select the required Action:
- Add Cookie
- Edit Cookie
- Choose when the cookie action should run:
- Before Refresh
- After Refresh
- Add more cookie rules if needed
- Start the refresh workflow
The selected cookie action will be performed at the configured point during each refresh cycle.
Add a Cookie
Use Add Cookie to create or set a cookie with a specified name and value.
This can be used when the website's behavior or displayed content depends on the presence or value of a particular cookie.
Edit a Cookie
Use Edit Cookie to change the value of an existing cookie.
Enter the cookie name and the new value you want to apply. Auto Refresh Plus will perform the configured action during the refresh workflow.
Choose When the Cookie Is Changed
You can choose when each cookie rule should run.
Before Refresh
The cookie action is performed before the webpage is refreshed.
After Refresh
The cookie action is performed after the webpage has been refreshed.
Use Multiple Cookie Rules
You can create multiple cookie rules to manage different cookies within the same refresh workflow.
Each rule can have its own:
- Cookie name
- Cookie value
- Action
- Timing
This allows you to manage multiple cookies during repeated refreshes.
