Why Can't I Edit Auto Refresh Plus Options?

If some settings in Auto Refresh Plus (ARP) appear locked or cannot be edited, your device is most likely connected to a synchronized profile as a Slave Device.

When a device is assigned as a Slave Device/Secondary Device, it automatically follows the settings configured by the Master Device. This prevents local changes from overriding the profile configuration.

Why Can't I Change Settings?

Auto Refresh Plus uses a profile-based synchronization system.

A profile can be managed from a Master Device/Primary Device and assigned to one or more Slave Devices.

When your device is configured as a Slave Device/Secondary Device, settings such as:

  • Refresh intervals
  • Hard Refresh
  • Page Monitor settings
  • Keywords
  • Notification settings
  • Auto Start rules

may be locked and managed by the assigned profile.

You will see a message:

This is a slave session. You can view settings but cannot make any changes.

This behavior is expected and indicates that the setting is being controlled by the profile.

How to Check If Your Device Is a Slave Device

Follow these steps:

  • Open Extension Settings
  • Go to Synchronizing
  • Review your current synchronization status

If the device is assigned to a profile managed by another device, it will be shown there as** Secondary Device**.

How to Change Locked Settings

Settings cannot be modified directly from a Slave Device.

To make changes:

  • Open Auto Refresh Plus on the Master Device
  • Update the required settings
  • Save the changes

The updated configuration will automatically synchronize to all devices using that profile.

Important Notes

  • Slave Devices inherit settings from the assigned profile
  • Changes made on the Master Device are synchronized automatically
  • Multiple devices can share the same profile
  • Locked settings are normal when synchronization is enabled

Summary

If you cannot edit Auto Refresh Plus settings, your device is likely assigned as a Slave Device/Secondary Device within a synchronized profile. Settings must be updated on the Master Device, after which the changes will automatically sync to all connected devices.
