How to Automatically Reset a Website When You Refresh It?

If a website depends on cookies to control its displayed content or behavior, you can use Cookie Automation in Auto Refresh Plus (ARP) to reset specific cookies automatically during each refresh.

How to Automatically Reset a Website

Follow these steps:

  • Open the website you want to reset
  • Open the Auto Refresh Plus extension
  • Go to Monitor → Cookie Automation
  • Add a cookie rule
  • Select the cookie you want to reset using the Cookie Picker, or enter its Cookie Name manually
  • Select Delete Cookie as the action
  • Choose when the cookie should be deleted:
    • Before Refresh
    • After Refresh
  • Add more cookie rules if you want to reset multiple cookies
  • Start the refresh workflow

The selected cookie will be deleted at the configured point in the refresh workflow.

Delete Cookies Before Refresh

Select Before Refresh when you want the specified cookie to be removed before the webpage is refreshed.

This allows the cookie action to take place before the next refresh cycle.

Delete Cookies After Refresh

Select After Refresh when you want the specified cookie to be removed after the webpage has been refreshed.

This allows the cookie action to take place after the refresh cycle.

Reset Multiple Cookies

You can create multiple cookie rules if the website uses more than one cookie.

For each rule, you can specify:

  • Cookie name
  • Cookie value
  • Action
  • Timing

To reset multiple cookies, configure each cookie with the Delete Cookie action and select the required timing.

Important Notes

  • Cookie Automation is available from Monitor → Cookie Automation.
  • It is configured through the extension popup.
  • Cookie Automation applies to the current URL only.
  • The Cookie Picker can be used to select a cookie from the current website.
  • Delete Cookie removes the specified cookie.
  • Cookie actions can be configured to run Before Refresh or After Refresh.

Summary

To automatically reset a website during refreshing, open Monitor → Cookie Automation, select the cookie you want to remove, choose Delete Cookie, and set it to run Before Refresh or After Refresh. You can create multiple rules to manage several cookies in the same refresh workflow.
