When a website changes, Auto Refresh Plus (ARP) can automatically perform a sequence of actions instead of only notifying you about the change. With Run Macro After Detection, Page Monitor can trigger a browser macro whenever a configured match is detected.
How to Automate Tasks When a Website Changes
Follow these steps:
- Open the website you want to monitor
- Open the Auto Refresh Plus extension
- Go to Monitor
- Configure your Page Monitor detection
- Open Run Macro After Detection
- Create the macro by recording actions or adding steps manually
- Arrange the actions in the order you want them to run
- Test the macro to verify that it performs the intended actions
- Save the configured macro and start monitoring
When Page Monitor detects the configured match, the macro will automatically execute its actions sequentially from top to bottom.
Create a Macro by Recording Actions
You can create a macro by performing actions directly on the webpage.
- Select Record
- Perform the required actions on the webpage
- Actions such as clicks, typing, and keyboard input are captured automatically
- Review the recorded action sequence
- Modify or remove steps if needed
Recording provides a faster way to create a macro without manually adding every action.
Add Macro Steps Manually
You can also build the automation sequence by adding individual steps.
Available actions include:
- Click: Clicks a selected webpage element.
- Fill Input: Enters specified text into an input field.
- Select Option: Selects an option from a selectable field or dropdown.
- Press Key: Presses a specified keyboard key.
- Hover: Moves the pointer over a selected element.
- Scroll: Scrolls the webpage.
- Wait: Pauses the macro for a specified period.
- Wait for Element: Waits for a specified webpage element before continuing.
- Go to URL: Navigates to a specified URL.
- Reload Page: Reloads the current webpage.
- Open Tab: Opens a specified webpage in a new browser tab.
Control the Action Sequence

You can:
