If your system is going to sleep even while Auto Refresh Plus (ARP) is refreshing tabs, it usually means the Power Save / Prevent Sleep setting is disabled.
This is not a bug, it’s expected behavior unless the feature is turned on.
Why This Happens
By default, your system:
- Enters sleep mode after inactivity
- Stops background processes
- Interrupts ongoing refresh tasks
Auto Refresh Plus does not override this unless you explicitly enable the setting.
How to Fix This
Enable Prevent System Sleep
- Open Auto Refresh Plus
- Go to General Settings → Time Interval
- Find Prevent System Sleep While Refreshing
- Turn it ON
👉 https://account.autorefresh.io/time-interval#power-save
What This Setting Does
- Keeps your system awake while at least one tab is refreshing
- Allows refresh and monitoring to continue even if screen turns off
- Prevents interruptions during long-running tasks
This is useful because continuous refreshing relies on the browser staying active
When You Will Notice This Issue
- Running long refresh sessions
- Monitoring pages overnight
- Tracking stock, tickets, or job listings
- Leaving system idle while ARP is active
Important Notes
- Works only when at least one tab is actively refreshing
- Screen may turn off, but system stays awake
- May increase battery usage on laptops
Summary
If your system sleeps while Auto Refresh Plus is running, enable Prevent System Sleep While Refreshing from settings. This ensures uninterrupted refresh and monitoring.
