If Auto Refresh Plus (ARP) plays a sound when a keyword is detected but does not show push notifications, it is usually due to notification settings at the browser or system level.
How to Fix This
1. Enable Notifications in System Settings
Your operating system must allow notifications.
Windows:
- Go to Settings → System → Notifications
- Enable notifications for your browser
Mac:
- Go to System Settings → Notifications
- Allow notifications for your browser
2. Disable Focus / Do Not Disturb Mode
Notifications may be blocked by system settings.
- Turn off Settings → System → Do Not Distrub (Windows)
- Turn off Control Center → Do Not Disturb OR Settings → Focus → Do Not Disturb (Mac)
3. Ensure Monitoring Is Active (Popup)
Push notifications only trigger when events occur.
- Open extension → Monitor
- Ensure keyword detection is active
If no event is triggered, no notification will be sent.
Important Notes
- Sound alerts and push notifications are separate
- Sound may work even if push notifications are blocked
- Notifications depend on browser + system permissions
Summary
If push notifications are not working, check browser permissions, system notification settings, and ARP notification settings. Once properly enabled, alerts will appear when monitored events occur.
