If you are unable to mute or unmute sound notifications in Auto Refresh Plus (ARP), it is usually related to notification behavior, browser limitations, or system-level issues.
Why This Happens
- Notification sounds are controlled globally
- Some browsers or systems may not stop sound instantly
- In certain cases (e.g., Windows), sound may continue even after interaction
How to Fix This
1. Use Mute Control (Popup)
- Open the extension
- Click the Mute icon in the popup
This immediately stops all notification sounds.
2. Check Notification Sound Settings (General Settings)
- Ensure sound is enabled or disabled as needed
- Check playback duration and repeat settings
- Avoid long or repeated sound loops if not required
3. Check Browser & System Settings
- Ensure your browser is not forcing sound playback
- Check system volume and notification controls
- Disable any conflicting audio or notification settings
Important Notes
- Sound playback may continue until its configured duration ends
- Muting from the popup stops future sounds, not always the current one instantly
- Behavior may vary depending on browser and operating system
Summary
If mute/unmute is not working properly, use the popup mute control and review notification sound settings. In some cases, browser or system behavior may affect how sounds are handled.
